Seán O’Shea Bio and Career:
The Sean O’Shea Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to empower youth with a mindfulness practice curriculum that focuses on providing memorable programs aimed at enriching young lives and providing invaluable instructors who will be positive role models while developing long-term relationships with educators and the community. The foundation was named after Sean O’Shea, a professional football player for the New York Giants.
The programs offered by the Sean O’Shea Foundation are intended to instill a sense of agency in young people using a mindfulness training and nutrition curriculum that emphasizes the delivery of life-changing lessons and experiences designed to enrich the lives of young people and the provision of invaluable instructors who will serve as positive role models. Sean was a model of quality, patience, and discipline, and he set a very high bar for others to follow. We may all gain something from his enthusiasm for life and his desire to improve himself.
These advantages have stood the test of time and come in the shape of a sound and well-rounded viewpoint. Sean’s lessons are a welcome antidote that all young people should have for the sake of their total health, progress, and well-being in this day of high complexity, terrible economic issues, and society’s overemphasis on competitiveness and peer pressure, The lessons that Sean teaches are an illuminating illustration of how simplicity, harmony, and collaboration are still virtues that every young person should strive to cultivate and develop in themselves.
In December 1974, Sean was born. Even at a young age, it was clear that he had both a gift for succeeding and a passion for gaining information. Even though he was just four years old, he was evaluated and placed into a first/second grade combined class while still in kindergarten. In the subsequent years of his education, he consistently achieved scores that were much above average and placed him in the top two percent of students across the country on state and national examinations.
After graduating from high school, Sean had already shown the natural leadership abilities that he had from birth. In 1992, Sean graduated from high school and served as President of the ASB, Homecoming King, All CIF Scholar, District Scholar, and the Golden Boys State Award recipient. Sean strongly supported the equitable treatment of all people and social justice. He thought that all people, regardless of their background or racial identity, should have the opportunity to pursue a quality education, including college. During his time at Palomar College, Sean served as President of Mecha. He was instrumental in the planning and execution of the biggest demonstration in Southern California that was held in opposition to Proposition 187.
In the summer of 1994, the North County Times published an article titled “Latinos Gain Momentum in Education.” Sean was featured in several different newspaper pieces, including this one. Following his graduation from Palomar in 1996, Sean pursued his goal and went to numerous countries in South America, where he gained a deeper understanding of his ancestry and background. His great-grandparents were Pamfila Gallardo and Teodoro Diaz, and his grandparents were Socorro Diaz and Enrique Montano. He was the great-great-grandson of Pamfila Gallardo. Mercedes and Finian O’Shea are Sean O’Shea’s siblings, and his parents, Liam and Gloria O’Shea are Sean’s biological parents.
After that, Sean submitted his application to Berkeley in 1998, and he eventually graduated there in 2000. As the photographer for the Berkeley student newspaper, Sean attended many rallies and demonstrations throughout his time at Berkeley. He was also active in several organizations that worked for social justice. Once again, once Sean graduated from Berkeley, he pursued his goal and departed to explore the globe, focusing mainly on England and Ireland in his search for his father’s relatives. Sean was like a sponge; he constantly soaked up as much information and knowledge as possible about other people and their cultures and customs.
Seán O’Shea Profile-
Over the following several years, Sean instructed adults and children in yoga. Sean’s goal was to instill a strong moral compass in his pupils while educating them on the profound philosophical underpinnings of yoga’s many physical poses. Sean thought that this school of thought might instill in the children the capacity to have a level head in the face of chaos and to maintain composure in the middle of intense activity. Sean was one of the first yoga instructors to teach the practice to children and teenagers in the public school system. It brought him great delight to work with young people, particularly those who were regarded to be in danger. Sean was a model for many adults and children throughout his life.
Over his more than 15 years of study and practice of yoga, Sean developed a deep conviction in the value of the practice. Since Sean was 17 years old, he studied under Tim Miller of the Ashtanga Yoga Center, who was Sean’s yoga instructor. In March 2005, Sean launched his own company as a yoga studio in the neighborhood of La Jolla. The name “Four Seasons” was chosen for Sean’s yoga studio, and the branch he chose to use as the business’s logo was chosen since it was an old symbol of nutrition.
Sean has remarkable qualities as a human being, including those of an environmentalist and a good Samaritan. While Sean operated his studio, he often donated his time teaching yoga to children and teenagers across San Diego County. Due to a tragic vehicle accident in December of 2006, just two days after Sean celebrated his birthday, he was taken from this world.
The O’Shea family was inundated with hundreds of messages in the form of letters, emails, and cards from friends, classmates, and family members in dozens of countries. The memorial ceremony for Sean was held in the San Luis Rey Center in Oceanside, which was full, and the send-off party for Sean was held at the Elks Club, which was packed too far over its capacity. All around him cherished Sean. A great number of people’s lives were improved as a direct result of Sean’s shining example, and the love we all felt for Sean played a role in the establishment of The Sean O’Shea Foundation.
