She was once hired to sing the National Anthem at the National Rodeo in Oklahoma City alongside country singer Red Steagall. After being impressed by her abilities, he assisted her in obtaining a contract with ‘Mercury Records in 1975. Her self-titled debut album was released in 1977. Regrettably, the album did not chart.
