In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, he entered politics for the first time, standing as an Indian National Congress candidate in the Bangalore South parliamentary constituency. But BJP candidate Ananth Kumar won with a larger vote total of 228,575.
He is the current chairman of the “Technology Advisory Committee for Unique Initiatives” (TAGUP), an advisory panel set up by the Indian government to examine the technical aspects of five major financial sector projects.
