Lee Child Bio and Career:
Lee Child was born in Coventry, England on October 29th, 1954, he spent the most of his formative years in the neighbouring city of Birmingham. He went to the same high school as J.R.R. Tolkien, which he attended because he happened to get a scholarship there. After working part-time in the theatre and attending law school in Sheffield, England, he joined Granada Television in Manchester to begin what would turn out to be an eighteen-year career as a presenting director during the “golden era” of British television.
This was throughout the 1960s and 1970s. His production firm was responsible for the films Brideshead Revisited, The Jewel in the Crown, Prime Suspect, and Cracker when he was in charge. However, in 1995, when he was forty years old, he lost his job as a consequence of organisational changes. He was always a voracious reader, and he made the decision to see an opportunity where others would have seen a catastrophe. He went out and spent six dollars on paper and pencils, and then he sat down to create the first book in the Jack Reacher series, which is titled Killing Floor.
Lee Child is the pen name of English author Jim Grant, who is a recipient of the Anthony Award for the best debut book for his work published under the pseudonym Lee Child. His books follow the exploits of Jack Reacher, a former member of the United States military police force who is now travelling about the United States. In the year 1954, Grant was born in Coventry, which is located in England.
His father worked for the government in some capacity. When Grant was just four years old, his parents made the decision to relocate the family to Birmingham’s Handsworth Wood neighbourhood so that he and his three older brothers could get a higher quality of school. Grant received the nickname “sharp boy” during his time as a student at the Orchard Primary School in Handsworth Wood, which he attended from the age of six until he turned eleven.
Later on, Grant was awarded a scholarship at King Edward’s Institution in Birmingham, which just so happened to be the same school that famed authors J.R.R. Tolkien and Enoch Powell had previously attended. Grant was a voracious reader who spent a significant amount of his time perusing the works of authors such as Enid Blyton, W.E. Johns, and Alistair MacLean. Despite the fact that Grant had no intention of ever working in the legal industry, he attended law school at Sheffield University in Sheffield in the year 1974.
When he first enrolled in law school, he was twenty years old. Grant did not have much of an interest in practising law, so throughout his time as a student he worked part-time backstage at a theatre. After he graduated, he began working at a commercial television station.

Lee Child Phone Number, Email, Contact Information, House Address, and Social Profiles:
For eighteen years, Lee’s location of employment was Granada Television in Manchester, where we were both employed in the roles of presenter director. Working on the production teams of hit television dramas including The Brideshead Revisited, Prime Suspect, Jewel in the Crown, and Cracker gave him a wealth of knowledge in the industry. During his time at Granada Television, Grant was engaged in more than 40,000 hours of programming and wrote hundreds of trailers, advertisements, and news pieces.
In all, he contributed to more than 40,000 hours of programming. Unfortunately for Grant, or maybe thankfully for us, his career at the channel came to an end in 1995 as a direct result of a business reorganisation. Grant saw an opportunity in a situation that the majority of people would interpret as a disaster. He spent six dollars on pencils, paper, and paper clips before settling down to write a book, which he considered to be the purest kind of enjoyment possible.
Lee Child’s first book, Killing Floor, was released to the public in the year 1997. The Reacher series began with this, the first novel in the series. The novel was an instant hit, earning Lee a nomination for an Anthony Award and marking the beginning of a fascinating series that has continued to grow in popularity as well as sales with each new instalment.Lee relocated to the United States a year after the publication of his debut book, and he presently resides with his wife in the state of New York. He also has a country property in the south of France.
In 2007, Lee and fourteen other authors collaborated on the production of The Chopin Manuscript. The suspenseful 17-part serial was released one episode at a time on Audible.com. In 2008, Lee accepted a position as a visiting professor at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. During his time there, he also endowed 52 Jack Reacher scholarships for deserving students. In 2009, the Mystery Writers of America elected Grant to the position of president of the organisation.
Lee is the recipient of many prizes in recognition of the popularity of his works. These honours include the Barry, Dilys, and Macavity awards for Killing Floor (1997), the WH Smith Thumping Good Read Award for Die Trying (1998), the Dilys and Ian Flemming Steel Dagger awards for Without Fail (2002), another Ian Flemming Steel Dagger Award for Persuader (2003), the Dilys Award for The Enemy (2004), and The Bob Kellogg Good Citizen Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Internet Writing Community .
