The first studio album by Carrington, titled Hangin’ with Rodney, was released by Mercury Records Nashville in the year 1998. This album reached its highest position on the Top Country Albums list at number 73. It had both stand-up comedy and original music, and it includes a song titled “Letter to My Penis,” which did not chart.
He made the move to Capitol Nashville to record his second album, Morning Wood, in the year 2000.
